I went to my easel, barefoot and in my pajamas, I painted. Finger painted on the large canvas I’ve been adding layers to since October. I added some white and yellow, green and blue. That opened it up and created space for more color, more layers. I felt better.
Next, I took a shower and used all the scents I had. I used an invigorating peppermint shampoo. I used a sweet coconut conditioner. I used a ginger body scrub. And later I used lavender essential oil body lotion. I put on my yoga clothes and unrolled my mat in a patch of sunlight in my living room. I did yoga. Some gentle, yin, nurturing yoga. I held the poses for a long time and then just lay there in the sunlight. I felt better.
Next, lunch. A Jamaican beef empanada topped with sour cream and hot sauce. Crisp pastry filled with spicy beef. Delicious. I felt better.
Then I began to work. I organized some papers I had put aside and started taking some notes. I felt better.
Then I danced. I danced to The Spinners. I danced to Shakira. I danced to Vampire Weekend. I felt better.
A little more work, then time for a hot cup of tea and a delicious nap.
At the end of the day, I felt fabulous.
