I took the last two months off from this space – first for the holidays and then for a complete redesign of this web site. I wanted to update it and I’m pleased with the way it turned out; I think it really expresses what I want to put out into the world.
So welcome back to my little creative space!
As I put the finishing touches on it, I realized it was two years ago in February that I began this creative project. So in those two years I went from a complete newbie/tech-phobe to designing my own website!
And I’m pleased because last night I figured out a few things and put in some CSS code. That’s kind of a big deal to me, because it wasn’t a cut-and-paste operation. I had to research it and try different snippets of code in a few places. And it worked! I didn’t break the site! (I had some help from a lovely support person, Susan, over at the theme developer site who changed the font for me, but when something else still wasn’t working, I pushed through on a hunch and figured it out.)
I’m sharing that because of how fun it felt to do something out of my comfort zone. I really could have made a mess of the website but I persevered and stepped into the unknown.
And that’s really what this space – and what I’m trying to do here – is all about. Push myself in a new creative direction. Take a chance.
And maybe take you on the journey too.
